MultiChoice has stopped airing six pro-gay children programmes on three DSTV channels following complaints by subscribers about their content. The programmes are Loud House, the Legend of Korra, Hey Arnold, Steven Universe, Adventure Time and Clarence. They were aired on Nickelodeon, Nicktoons and Cartoon Network. Disclosing this, Tina Wamala, communications manager of DSTV Uganda, said the suspension of the programmes will affect viewers across Africa.

 
The suspension was as a result of Kenya Film Classification Board{KFCB}’s ban of the programmes from being broadcast in the country after subscribers complained that they were not fit for young viewers. The President of the Ashanti Regional Christian Council of Ghana Youth Ministry, Mr. Lawrence Senyo, has said should Ghanaians not wake up, gays would handle the day-to-day administration of the country in future. According to the youth leader whose words fuel homophobia, he said, “Let us rise and build the church and Ghana. It is our prayer, as a Council, that God Almighty directs the executives of the Methodist youth, or the executives to the right direction and right task ahead. Micheal Ighodaro is an Assisant Professor in Global LGBTI Studies at The New School University in New York. He is among activists fighting for laws and attitudes affecting LGBT people in countries across the world. In 2015, Ighodaro was named a White House Honoree and a World Refugee Champion of Change for his work with the New York-based Aids Vaccine Advocacy Coaltion (AVAC) and the Housing Works organisation which helps people coping with HIV/Aids and homelessness. He then took upon himself to curb his people’s sinfulness and bring them closer to God. He introduced Sharia. Skeptics called it political opportunism but it’s possible it was virtue, righteous anger. Now, everyone talks about Bukar like they would talk about a dissolute drunkard. Bukar is not a nonentity. Author, poet, and queer theologian Rev. Jide Macaulay is on the move!

 

 
Rainbow Gazette can confirm that Macaulay, the founder and CEO of House of Rainbow, is headed for a multiple-state tour in the United States of America from Monday, 26th June 2017  to Tuesday, 25th July 2017. He will be speaking at Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Louisiana.

 
Although there are not specific details of exactly what Macaulay will be discussing, there is no doubt that he has a lot to talk about.

 
Macaulay’s House of Rainbow, which is headquartered in London, is a welcoming ministry for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, intersex, and queer people.
